Thanks for your … Thanks for your comment. There actually is a way to predict word stress. It is based on the word ending. It is a bit much to go into here…but take my class and find out for yourself!
This video is … This video is helpful, but the final comparison about car driving is a bit fallacious : there is no simple rule to know how to put the correct word stress on a word in english. You have to look in a dictionary or to be in immersion with native speakers.
Accent Master … Accent Master opened a new door for me. My ex teachers never told me the difference between a noun and a verb while pronouncing them. Well I can see now there is a difference. Its like I have been given a new information. VERY IMPORTANT ONE. Well done Lynn
You’re so right on … You’re so right on that. That’s true for French too. Too often, speech therapists insist on the importance of articulating and opening the mouth wide, but this is not good advice. That’s the way I learnt American English, by speaking as naturally and effortlessly as possible and the rest is good!
Good video! Another … Good video! Another trick to emulate American accent is to practice the Long Vowel Sounds like the “a” sound in ape; “e”=eel; “i”= iphone o=over; u=user. Gotta soften pronunciation and don’t open the mouth too wide. If you notice, most fluent English speakers move their bottom lips more.Helps control sounds I think
