i have been diagnosed with complex post traumatic stress disorder with psychosis, before this disorder i was diagnosed with schizo affective disorder and on dla, can i contine if i have the new diagnosis of CPTSD?
DLA is payable dependent on what your care needs are. Regardless of your condition, if you need help with carrying out basic day to day activities then you will be entitled to the Care component and if you have problems with mobility you will be entitled to the Mobility component. the amount you receive depends on which "rate" you qualify for and this differs dependent on the severity of your condition and how much help you need.
You will obviously have to be examined by a medical examiner in order to qualify but a change in your diagnosis should not make a difference as long as your care/mobility requirements have not changed.

Do you already have disability?? Also, it might be different in different states. I know that in illinois, if you have a form filled out by a doctor stating your condition and that you are unable and incapable of working, you would than have to go down to social security administration office near you, or the department of human and family services and file a claim with then. More than likely you will be eligable if it is ligit. Hope this helped.

Say it and be free of all that junk:
Life’s Problems: One Solution Accept Jesus Christ by saying this little prayer Out-Loud, He truly is The Easy Button:
"Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. Please forgive my sins and give me the gift of eternal life. I ask You in to my life and heart to be my Lord and Savior. I want to serve You always." Amen
He can repair all brokenness, dis pare, anger issues, addictions, hatred, cutting yourself,gays,lesbians,bi-sexual,evil dreams, evil thoughts, nightmares, pornography, divorce….on and on. Why would I give you this prayer if it didn’t work? What benefit would I get spending my time giving it out? God exists and He is waiting to hear you say the prayer so He can help you!
After you and your family say this prayer pass it on and help other’s we All Need God.

As long as you are still in treatment and are unable to work because of your diagnosis nothing will change. You will continue to receive the same benefits as you have in the past.
It really isn’t about diagnosis it is about your disability and you ability to work or not. This new diagnosis has not changed the fact that you still have a state of mind that prevents you from working. Please don’t worry about losing your benefits as that won’t happen. I am sorry that you are suffering and the last thing you need to worry about is your disability payments. Take care of yourself!

You can continue to receive DLA for this new diagnosis as long as your care and mobility needs have not changed for the better since your last claim assessment. Assuming you still have a diagnosis of schizo affective disorder then this will be the case.

I would say yes you probably can. Were you wrongly diagnosed as having schizo affective disorder because if not you probably still have this also and I wonder why your DLA stopped.
If you recieve support from a psychiatrist and see a CPN or some form of mental health working on a regualr basis the likelihood is, is that you will recieve some form of DLA because you have a condition that needs supporting. I would recommend seeing your GP also as they are the people that the DLA write to for information on you and your condition.
there is no harming in trying, I would at least fill in the form and see what happens
