I get really nervous in class when I think I might get called on to answer a question. Right now I have an air cast and I’m using crutches and I just hate how people always look at me.
Is it safe for me to be close to the newborn baby when she’s born?

My mom was in the same situation, and she was told to stay away from my baby for 24 hours. Still, with a newborn, i’d try to stay away loner.

Before you go asking for a Rx of Valium (Diazepam) I think you should do a little reading on the subject. Valium is classified as a benzodiazepine. Benzodiazepines are highly addictive and usually create a bigger mess than what you started with. Often causing your anxiety and panic disorder to become worse while trying to ween yourself off of these drugs. I found a very good resource regarding panic and anxiety that talks about how to manage your anxiety and panic naturally and positively. There are some great resources you should look at first before you try the hard stuff. You are on the right track!

I ve used Brozac before but I cant bear the side effects. Would u suggest another solution please.

V A L E R I A N * R O O T

Yes indeed as the previous Answerer says, "It is a Healing Herb!"

Years ago I was prescribed Valium…
i took the Valium for quite some time…
then i happened across an Apothocary who told me, actually gave me an herbal prescription for an herbal substitute for Valium:

1/2 ounce Valerian Root
1/2 pint of Ginger Brandy

Shake well each time you use it

take one teaspoon as needed

IT ABSOLUTELY WORKS

I suppose you could go
to the health food store and get the Valerian Root in capsule form and take it as a capsule….
but, it will not have the same affect!

go ahead and get the capsules
break ‘em apart…
’til you get about a 1/2 oz of the herb
mix with 1/2 pint of ginger brandy

this will not give you the "kick" of a valium
but…it will definitely help with your stress

one thing to know:
before you start messing around with Valerian Root Powder: IT STINKS!
It smells worse than week old gym socks

Give it a try

IT ABSOLUTELY WORKS!

(if you are having trouble sleeping, try: SCULLCAP TEA before your retire)

^
^
^

I get stressed whenever I practice or play… and -especially- when someone is watching or I have to perform for someone. If anything, picking up an instrument has made me for anxiety stricken over these past years.
I associate the feeling of practicing/playing in front of people with public speaking. Yuck!

It just depends on the person. If you’re a person who just loves music more than anything in the world, you’ll find it a great escape to play and "get away from the world." If you really love music you’ll just love the chance to get to practice and perform your talent for others. Performing for others is just something not everyone is good at though, and normal to be nervous.

I am working on a story, however I was wondering do people sometimes show symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder months or years after what ever caused it happened? In this time can they be completely fine?
Example, they see something that reminds them of what happened and it just crashes them into a depression? Thanks a lot.
Yes….. I was severely abused as a child starting when I was 5….. I still have flashbacks and I am 45 now. I have always had flashbacks though - and I have DID so it’s a little different than PTSD (though technically I have that too)… Some people repress memories and do not even remember the event for years (or ever).. they can have flashbacks after recovering the memories or they can even have flashbacks without even remembering the event…. a child that was raped but supresses the event, may not remember it but may still become severely depressed or emotional when faced with anything that could connect with the event. PTSD is not necessarily just flashbacks… PTSD can also be a complete lack of emotion concerning an event…. the emotions are just too painful so the mind turns them off completely…. women can talk about a rape in perfect detail and not feel a single emotions about it…. this doesn’t usually hold forever and eventually breaks down but this would be an easy way to explain why someone would seem to be fine abotu something for a long time then fall apart about it.

I want it to be COMPLETELY unreadable (I’m a paranoid S.O.B.) and so I was wondering if anyone got any creative ideas to destroy a hard drive. I could really use some stress relief, so anything involving a battle cry would be great.

I’ve heard baseball bats and hammers aren’t 100% effective though.

Thanks! Personal stories would also make my day =)

Substitute the printer for the Hard drive

I had a few violent relationships from age 20- 23 and find it hard to trust people so I keep people at a distance.
But I have had panic attacks and agoraphobia since the age of 9.
Post-Traumatic stress disorder or something else ?
Also I have always had a hard time expressing myself in person to people I don’t know well.

Do events you see that relate to it even if you see it through media sources, tv that will trigger problems and cause you now very hard times to view things that are close to what you suffered.

I ask this cause myself, I was in a severe accident, could have easily died, really could have with a C-1 fracture (broken neck) on cervical 1 with other issues that I don’t even want to talk about witch is not like me, but points to PTSD and whenever I see on tv that resembles a accident, a bad accident with blood all over the victims of the accident. I just can’t watch it, or have great trouble and triggers a lot of issues. Dreams use to come and really bother me,

I handle these issues the wrong way using diazepam too flood myself of all these triggers/thoughts and never experienced anything like this before.

Even though I will heal from all the injuries, I was lucky and could have even had temporarily or full paralysis so even though I feel lucky, I still get these attacks. what I am saying is if you don’t think you have it, ask yourself if you experience any of the symptoms of it and really, experiences myself, something that you never really experienced before.
