I had a nuclear stress test four days ago. A loved one is in the hospital right now and will be giving birth within the next 24 hours. Is it safe for me to be close to the mom to be? Is it safe for me to be close to the newborn baby when she’s born?

My mom was in the same situation, and she was told to stay away from my baby for 24 hours. Still, with a newborn, i’d try to stay away loner.

Is there some kind of program that could preform a stress test on ram? I bought some used ram from ebay and want to make sure that it works.

I have used this http://hcidesign.com/memtest/ to test my memory.

Patient is attention seeker and not so truthful with medical staff that is trying to help her. Could she have done anything during neclear stress test to cause the results to come out abnormal?

Nuclear stress tests are more accurate in detecting regional areas of decreased blood flow.

i had an ekg full lab work 2 xrays and a upper gi lately. all was normal except the xrays showed arthritis in my back and upper gi confirmed Gerd acid reflux disease. now my doctor is sending me for a stress test with nuclear imaging. i was wondering why she is sending me for a stress test when she already confirmed i had acid reflux disease? can a stress test determine other things then just heart blockages and things?

Having GERD doesn’t mean you’re somehow protected from having heart disease. Apparently you’ve been having some discomfort in the lower chest or upper abdomen, and you’ll doubtless be placed on antacid therapy, but it’s nice to know if you’re going to have a good treatment AND not die of a heart attack!

I need to get a Thaillum stress test done & i’m taking Seloken XL 25 twice daily? My doctor has advised me to stop this medication 48 hrs before the test is done?Is this the correct way or stopping the medication may lead to some problems?

Yes it is correct. Taking a beta blocker will make the result of the stress test inaccurate.
You won’t have a problem not taking it for a couple of days.

I am stressing over having to take a stress test in a few days, lol! I am overweight and don’t exercise regularly but otherwise have good BP, cholesterol, etc. Am I going to be embarrassed or worse - die, lol?

As long as you don’t have a heart condition that would prevent your heart rate raising you just walk on a treadmill until your rate reaches a certain point. Nothing to worry about and they want to find out how much you can walk before your heart rate reaches a certain point. You may get tired but no needles or anything like that. The chemical ones are just given to heart patients who can’t get their rate up because of beta blockers or other heart meds.

My husband has to go for a stress test tomorrow and wants to know what happens if you cant finish the test how soon will they know if something is wrong?
but how do they know if something is wrong someone told him and i Quote "If they yank you off they table and rush you into surgery youll know" and now hes freaking out.

I have given lots of stress tests. They are designed to show your current fitness/health level. They can show heart disease, but are only around 95% accurate. Tell him it is not a pass/fail situation.

I understand that in this stress test they inject you with something called thallium and I am concerned that my medicine might not go well with this. I told the cardiologist doctor that I am epileptic and am currently taking medication but he said there would be no problem. However, I am scared even though I need to do this test because the other heart tests have been abnormal.

dnt worry, you can go with the test, your doc is true

My BF is 41 years old, but he’s a healthy weight, doesn’t smoke or drink. He recently had a treadmill stress test and when he called in for the results, the nurse said the doctor wants to see him. If everything was okay they would have said so, right? Does it mean he may have a heart problem?

He probably wants to give you the results in person.
Most doctors will not give results over the phone due to security of patient confidentiality.

I have a stress test scheduled this week. I’ve had this test done a couple of months ago and the respiratory therapist asked me to remove my shirt so that he could stick these sensors on my skin which are connected to a computer. I then need to pedal on a bicycle for a couple of minutes. It’s embarassing. I wonder is there a way I could complete this test without those sensors stuck to my chest?

they gotta have them on to monitor ur heart but if you uncomfortable ask if a hospital grown
