I suffer from panic attacks!

Before you go asking for a Rx of Valium (Diazepam) I think you should do a little reading on the subject. Valium is classified as a benzodiazepine. Benzodiazepines are highly addictive and usually create a bigger mess than what you started with. Often causing your anxiety and panic disorder to become worse while trying to ween yourself off of these drugs. I found a very good resource regarding panic and anxiety that talks about how to manage your anxiety and panic naturally and positively. There are some great resources you should look at first before you try the hard stuff. You are on the right track!

how does basketball release stress?

because people usually get stressed when they dont reach goals

in basketball, the hoop is the goal so you are managing your stress by achieving a goal

Hi, I need help in managing my own stress when working with other people, especially those who are out there to put you down. I seem to be fearful of them…

Any advice will be great!

1. Just smile while working

2. Always reaffirm that you are contributing to the company in your own special way

3. Do things you enjoy after work. Life is not just about work….it includes many other things as well…

Hi, I am looking for some stress management exercises which I can do in office.

Something subtle can be good. I do not want my colleagues to know I am not effective
and stressed up.

Any idea?

self-affirmation is always good. try coaxing yourself that everything is fine, you can finish your tasks. And if ever you do make mistakes don’t blame yourself. when negative things comes across your thoughts try stopping it by just saying stop out loud (not too loud, just enough for you to hear). this helps you be in a more positive attitude thus resisting and managing your stress becomes more easier. Always give yourself credit whenever you finish something. talking a few walks like a couple of minutes walking from your cubicle to the corridors would suffice. also taking a 5-minute nap during lunch break helps. this is what you call a power-nap. :)

See this link, it will help you in the steps on relieving stress when at work without being noticed that you’re stress out :)

Don’t make the stress personal
Channel your frustration into something productive

I deal with a lot of stress & anxiety on a regular basis. I’m just one of those people that over analyze everything! I wish it wasn’t so difficult to deal with daily stress so any information that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.

anything from diet, exercise, books to read, websites…

I find that doing regular excersize in the form of something slightly aggressive such as boxing, karate, mountain biking ETC really helps me feel in control & less stressed out.

Also try not to give yourself reasons to be stressed in the first place (I am obviously not aware of your own circumstances & why you are anxious but simply speaking from my own experience) Try to keep your finances in good order, don’t become deeply involved with friends & colleagues dramas ETC.

I think diet is really important for people with anxiety issues as well, I can honestly tell you I feel stressed out for days if I eat cheese. If all else fails I think Bachs rescue remedy is brilliant stuff & it has helped me many times.

which would you rather attend and why?

thanks for the answers in advance.

I have been having a few problems with some things can you help?
Ok, so first i have these random attacks, usually when i’m excited or happy, i get light headed and have shortness of breath, i feel very jittery and can’t calm down

Second issue, i get really stressed over things that wouldn’t bother other people. Any tips?

Third Issue- i’m always tired and have no energy for anything at all. I don’t get excited unless i have one of my freaky attacks.

Any tips? Thanks so much and sorry for all the info.

Sounds like a typical sensitive teenage girl with strong emotions and cranky hormones.

You’re fine. The emotion of joy should make you feel out of this world. To be high on life makes all of us lightheaded, short of breath and jittery. There are emotions that purely overwhelm our limited human psyche, joy is one of them.

To manage stress, quit dwelling on the problem and get into the solution. Stop the negative thoughts and concentrate on the positive.

Tiredness, lethargy? Teens need more sleep than anyone except newborns and toddlers. You burn energy from morning til bedtime and even during your sleep. You spend 8-10 hours a day getting ready for school, being transported to school, doing school; and then you might have extracurricular activities or sports, afterschool functions, going home, chores and homework and then probably never get to sleep on time. And you probably don’t eat the way you should either. No wonder weekends feel so boring, you don’t know how to relax.

That’s your prescription: relax, think positive, and feel your pain and joy to the ultimate degrees.
