I deal with a lot of stress & anxiety on a regular basis. I’m just one of those people that over analyze everything! I wish it wasn’t so difficult to deal with daily stress so any information that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.
anything from diet, exercise, books to read, websites…
I find that doing regular excersize in the form of something slightly aggressive such as boxing, karate, mountain biking ETC really helps me feel in control & less stressed out.
Also try not to give yourself reasons to be stressed in the first place (I am obviously not aware of your own circumstances & why you are anxious but simply speaking from my own experience) Try to keep your finances in good order, don’t become deeply involved with friends & colleagues dramas ETC.
I think diet is really important for people with anxiety issues as well, I can honestly tell you I feel stressed out for days if I eat cheese. If all else fails I think Bachs rescue remedy is brilliant stuff & it has helped me many times.
I admit, I haven’t been on in a while, but it’s just wow! I can like get myself something good to eat amd sit here for hours just reading other peoples problems trying to help out, it’s also a lot of fun things to read here, and you learn a lot. I really appreciate this website, it gives me time to set me into problems that for once aren’t mine, gives me something else to think of than school. Great stress relief from my point of view, do you share the same opinion?
I agree. I really, really appreciate this site. Whenever I’m anxious or feeling sick, it distracts me. When I’m sad, I try to help others and it makes me feel better. When I ask a question and get an answer, it makes me super happy, and it makes me even happier to answer someone else’s question and hope that I’m brightening their day, too. Offering my advice and experiences really makes me feel like I’m doing something good for someone else. And I like that feeling.
I have recently been fired from work and I am really worried about money.
I am a 27 year old man and yet my only option now will be to borrow money from my mum, and I am dreading asking her.
I am so stressed and ashamed about having to do this. It feels horrible.
Obviously I am looking for work, but I don’t know how I am going to get through this financial stress.
By watching this

I don’t know what works for others but I always think ahead. By that I mean what the day will be and how I will feel after the stressful event. I think, "just get it done." I also have a punching bag-just putting on my gloves and knowing I get to beat the hell out of something makes me feel sooooo much better!
I have no criminal record and no history of violence and never attempted suicide. And the PTSD is related to an incident in childhood, not in the military.
Never been hospitalized either.
No, not at all. As long as you’re a resident of the US purchasing the firearm as the actual buy and haven’t commited a felony, commited a crime that could have given you a year or more in jail, been involuntarilly admitted to a mental institution, been adjudicated as mentally defective (by a JUDGE, not just a doctor), been dishonorably discharged from the military, subject to a court restraint to stay away from your partner or child, or been convicted of a misdemeanor of domestic violence… You can be depressed schizophrenic on prosac with an AR15.
My BF is 41 years old, but he’s a healthy weight, doesn’t smoke or drink. He recently had a treadmill stress test and when he called in for the results, the nurse said the doctor wants to see him. If everything was okay they would have said so, right? Does it mean he may have a heart problem?
He probably wants to give you the results in person.
Most doctors will not give results over the phone due to security of patient confidentiality.
Three other lifeguards and i have to back board someone yesterday. We are all dealing with the stress and after shock from that.Myself and another lifeguard have not been able to sleep and have been very sick.We all have talked to our boss and tried not to think about it.What are some good ways to help with that just encase it happens again.Should we keep guarding or go home for the day? What could we do?
If it was a successful rescue, remind yourselves of this. You were there and you responded correctly. This was a very traumatic situation. It’s normal to feel the way you do. It’s probably not very likely this will happen again so soon. As time passes you will gradually be able to settle down. You are a special person looking out for the safety of others.
I have a stress test scheduled this week. I’ve had this test done a couple of months ago and the respiratory therapist asked me to remove my shirt so that he could stick these sensors on my skin which are connected to a computer. I then need to pedal on a bicycle for a couple of minutes. It’s embarassing. I wonder is there a way I could complete this test without those sensors stuck to my chest?
they gotta have them on to monitor ur heart but if you uncomfortable ask if a hospital grown
which would you rather attend and why?
thanks for the answers in advance.
I’ll go for stress management cuz I’m always to feeling anger and even I’m getting a hot temper due to a lot of my works in my office and I want to throw it away of all my paperworks.Well it is not good of our health when we are feeling an anger,a depression and we should to taking a rest,to spending and to bonding time with our loved ones and always to keep on praying when we will have of our own problems until to overcome the some challenges our lives
We’re doing a research on stress levels experienced by college students. Level of stress is our variable. So far, I haven’t found a consistent view on levels of stress yet. It seems like different researchers and authors have identified their own levels of stress for their respective population. Although there are established ways on measuring stress, there are a few resources on levels of stress. Can you identify some and cite your resources? Thanks!
The best answer I can give you is that the levels are unimportant because the closer the matter is to your heart the more it frazzles you. Take it from me, a 55 yr old woman, who worked in state tax collection for years (which carries a very high level of stress), Single mother with 3 grown sons with child custody problems ( very high level of stress), has alzheimer’s disease now (I guess I blew a gasket), seizures and esophageal erosion, and is now disabled. If i didn’t have interaction with other people I wouldn’t have any stress at all.
Stress as is depression, is brought about via outside influence for me. As a woman my family is the most important thing in my life. If I am being pushed to achieve a goal at work or to exceed an amount set my my employer, We had a certain goal amount to reach in collections. If you didn’t reach that goal your job was in jeopardy, so there was this constant push. Thus, a lot of stress to the point I would vomit then it went to vomiting blood, then finally esophageal erosion. This directly affected my being able to support my family. Doing a really good job was of the utmost importance. Therefore, I had to react to it as I would a matter of the heart. Anything that has repercussions that affect the heart will be like a blow to the stomach.
Stress level experienced by college students depends on their desire to succeed. There is always going to be the young immature students that are going to college because their parents want them to but, they really don’t know yet what they really want to do in life. Mom and dad are the ones that have always worried about that stuff. Then there is going to be the underachievers that have got to do better but, have some kind of mental block thus, they just can’t seem to get there. Then there are the ones who just seem top skate through effortlessly. You have to look at the circumstances behind the scene to really get the jest of the stress level. All you really need to do is to meditate and walk in their shoes. You will get the answer.
